I have always loved geography and maps. Several years ago I began to collect discarded maps and atlases. The colors, designs, and images are beautiful, especially in the older maps - cartographers are great artists! I’ve only just begun to experiment with different ways to use maps and vintage photos in my art.
I was lucky enough to get one of Sheila's small map works during a past Holiday Art Tour. I love the way map-language and art meet: it really takes you places!
